Day 4

Today I woke up feeling normal and not ridiculously hungry like yesterday. First thing I did upon arising is weigh myself. Please tell me yesterday was worth something! Sure enough, I had lost 4 lbs! woo hoo!

For breakfast, instead of coffee I opted for Dandy Blend which is a coffee substitute made from Dandelion. Sounds gross, I know but it will surprise you. I added 1 teaspoon of the Hazelnut So Delicious Coconut Creamer and 3 drops of Stevia . You are allowed 2 tablespoons of whole milk a day but I don't drink milk anymore and coconut milk is my replacement.

Apart from the Dandy Blend, I cut up a green apple and used the Walden Farms Apple Butter to dip my apple slices in. I was actually impressed with the taste considering I was so disappointed in their Ranch Dressing yesterday . The texture is kinda weird, it's like wanna be jelly but thicker in the sense that it's slippery and it doesn't spread very well. I bought this thinking it was like caramel for apples even though it clearly says apple butter. It made my apples taste a little like apple pie. So I was pleased. I wouldn't eat this product if it wasn't for this diet but I might use it to add some flare to a recipe.

Back to the breakfast, I was actually too full to finish my apples. I have just been munching on one here and there. I probably only ate about 1/4 on my apple. Now it's 1:30 in the afternoon and I feel a tad hungry but overall, not very hungry at all. Gonna try to graze through my apples before I consider making lunch.

Day 3

This has been a difficult day. Yikes. I woke up starving. I had a grapefruit and a cup of coffee. I think the coffee worked against me in that it seemed to speed up my metabolism or something. I was miserable. I drank plenty of water throughout the day (1/2 a gallon) and took all my vitamins:

Probiotic
Multi-Vitamin
Calcium
Potassium
Fiber

For lunch I had a salad. 3 oz of chicken with an entire romaine lettuce. I still felt starving. I think the reason for this is all the overeating the 2 days before had stretched my stomach and I just had this hallow feeling. For dinner I made a soup with lean beef and vegetable broth. It contained tomatoes and cilantro and lots of spices. I know you are not supposed to mix vegetables but I guess cilantro is a "spice".

After dinner I got the worst headache I have ever had in my life. It just hit me. I took 8 baby aspirin but it did nothing. Since I don't usually take pain relievers, 4 usually does the trick for me. So I decided to head straight to bed. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.

Grocery Shopping

Today I went shopping for all my ingredients. I bought enough for basically one week of food. The most expensive part was the vitamins. I always buy non-synthetic (non man-made) vitamins so I spend a little more. When you start to learn that man-made calcium, for example, comes from limestone you worry a little less about cost and concern yourself a lot more with quality!

I purchased New Chapters Women's One a day as a multi vitamin is very important!

Day 2

Fat Loading Day 2

So after gaining no weight after all the eating I did yesterday, I decided to push the envelope and eat even more! I started the morning with eggs and Hebrew National Hot Dogs cut up inside. I've eaten these before, as a matter of fact these are the hot dogs I usually buy but I had NO idea they were sooo fattening!! 2 hot dogs is 300 calories and 28 grams of fat! wow! along with the eggs, sharp cheddar, Dr Pepper.. my breakfast in total was 720 Calories.

Mid-morning snack was dangerous! I had a large chocolate milkshake from Baskin Robbins. 900 calories!! I couldn't drink it all, I probably drank 1/3 of it before my stomach got just a little upset.

Lunch was simple I went to Panda Express and had the Orange Chicken Bowl with steamed rice. With the drink it came to 645 Calories.

For dinner I opted for Mc Donalds, I had a quarter pounder with cheese and yet again, another dr pepper. About this time, my kidney's are feeling a tad sore =/ My total dinner calories came to 1010. What!! I've eaten this many times before, and even though I usually don't finish my food I had no idea I was having that many calories.

For my evening snack, trying to shove in the last of the calories before the night ends, I have 7 Girl Scout Thin Mints. I sought these out to be able to eat tonight. 7 of these gave me an additional 266 calories and 26 grams of fat. wow. Finally I had 2 samoas adding another 150 calories.

Total Calories Today - 3781
Total Calories Yesterday - 3559
2 day total 7340

The sad part is, in the last 2 days I've technically only eaten enough to gain 2 lbs. you're supposed to gain 5. I already feel sick from all this abundance of yucky food which I usually love. The lady at the Sunflower Shoppe told us that if we only gain 2 lbs that we should add another fat day. I don't think I can do this another day =( I am ready to start eating better already.

Day 1 Fat Loading Day

I thought it sounded crazy when I read about a "fat-loading day"! What? Gain weight on a diet.. well, I was thinking it was gonna be difficult knowing that 3000 calories equals one pound! So, if I must gain 5 pounds in 2 days I need to intake 15,000 calories in 2 days??? So far I've had 3624 calories with breakfast and lunch!! wow. I guess putting on the weight wasn't gonna be as hard as I thought. Here's what I ate:

Total Calories 3559
Weight gained - ZERO. what!!!

The loading days tell your body that you have more than enough regular fat and it's ok to start attacking the stored fat while on the diet!

Purchasing HCG

I decided to go with the drops due to convenience and cost. I purchased mine through the Sunflower Shoppe. You take 10 drops 3x a day and hold under the tongue for 15 seconds. They taste a little like grapefruit but they kinda have a numbing effect, I believe it's due to the alcohol.

The package comes with a booklet which we probably could have done without just because there is so much information on the internet and also on the website listed above. The package comes with the HCG drops, a recipe/information booklet and B12 supplement.

I recommend purchasing the syringes so that you don't waste drops!
